Blooming Cloud is a sculptural vessel inspired by the softness of clouds and the quiet unfolding of petals in bloom. Handbuilt from paperclay, its surface is composed of dozens of individually shaped ceramic petals that overlap and flow around the form, creating a sense of movement and lightness despite the permanence of the material.
The soft blue glaze settles differently across the textured surface, revealing subtle variations in tone and depth. Along the petal edges, the glaze becomes thinner, allowing the clay body beneath to gently emerge and accentuate the layered structure of the piece. Light catches these delicate transitions, bringing the surface to life from every angle.
Both vessel and sculpture, Blooming Cloud invites a slower gaze. It is a reflection on transformation, fragility, and the beauty of forms that seem almost weightless.
